Tragedy Strikes the Strokes
Almost 11 years to the day of Dana Plato's intentional drug overdose, the actress' son has taken his own life. Tyler Lambert never got over the Diff'rent Strokes star's death back in 1999. Last week, the 25-year-old committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. According to the National Enquirer, Lambert was consumed by his mother's death, going so far as to get teardrop tattoos on his face with her ashes added to the ink. In addition to suffering from depression, the cameraman had been doing drugs and drinking heavily, according to People. Grandmother Joni Richardson is mourning the loss of Lambert more than a decade after losing her daughter in law. Richardson tells People, "It's a shame that such a talented human being would do this with his life. He had all the opportunities in the world and we just can't understand it." She added that his death came as a shock, as she had just spoken to him in the morning and he seemed fine, "He was talking so sweet to me on the phone that morning. But you never can tell what's in their mind." One person who was hit particularly hard by the news was Plato's former Strokes co-star Todd Bridges, who has battled his own drug demons in the past. Radaronline.com is reporting that Bridges is "distraught" over what happened. His publicist says, "He was shocked by the news."
