Brittany Murphy 1977-2009
Hollywood is reeling over the untimely death of yet another young celebrity. Tragedy struck over the weekend when Sin City actress Brittany Murphy was found unconscious in the shower by her mother. Paramedics tried fruitlessly to revive the Clueless star who was in full cardiac arrest. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, according to TMZ. So far there has been no speculation over the cause of death. However, Murphy's mom told paramedics that her daughter was diabetic, a statement which hasn't been confirmed. Just recently, Murphy was fired from The Caller because she was reportedly being problematic on the set. In the past, the rail-thin actress has been plagued by rumors of cocaine abuse and an eating disorder. TMZ is also reporting that Murphy's husband, screenwriter Simon Monjack, did not want an autopsy done on his wife. But police have launched an investigation into her death, and plans for an autopsy are underway. Murphy's rep issued the following statement, "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."
