Former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O'Day is not getting any puppy love from critics who are growling over her decision to constantly dye the fur of her 1-year-old Maltese, Ginger. The pampered pooch's look is ever-changing and at the mercy of her offbeat master, who last week came under fire for calling Fidel Castro and Hitler "brilliant." We're guessing she'll soon have PETA on her tail. Just recently, Ginger was sporting a green 'do to honor the Celtics. O'Day defends the canine's coloring insisting that it's a way for the dog to express herself. O'Day told Usmagazine.com, "She likes to have looks. It actually seems like such a taboo weird thing nowadays, but if you research online, you will see a whole underworld of dogs who are dyed." O'Day takes the dye job so seriously that she's developing an all-natural doggie dye. She currently consults with her vet before giving Ginger these mini-makeovers. No word on whether she consults Ginger, who is usually asleep when the dyeing goes down. Says O'Day, "I do it like anyone would color hair. She sits on my lap, and I have a brush, and I paint it on and use foils." The sexy singer swears that Ginger doesn't have it ruff. "She loves attention and because she's colored and has different outfits, she gets so much of it. She prefers it."
