Lamar Odom Axed from Mavs

Lamar Odom wasn't the lone star in Dallas after all. The only thing bigger in Texas for Odom and wife Khloe Kardashian is their problems. Just months after joining the Dallas Mavericks, the NBA player has quit the team... before they can fire him. According to TMZ, Odom released a statement saying he will "step away from the team." Taking the high road, Odom explained, "I'm sorry that things didn't work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs' organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship." Odom will be listed as inactive, giving him the opportunity to be traded after this season. Unfortunately, many believe Odom just hasn't had his head in the game since making the move to the Mavs. His numbers are at a career low, and his enthusiasm appears to have waned. The abrupt decision will surely have some kind of fallout, considering he and Kardashian had just leased a condo and planned to start filming for her reality show. No word on where they will go from Texas.
