With the death of Whitney Houston, daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is determined to put the past behind her and get a fresh start. And part of the healing process will include a shocking name change, according to TMZ. Although it may sound cruel, the troubled 19-year-old has wanted to disassociate herself from father Bobby Brown for some time now. However, sources say Whitney was opposed to the notion. Now that the "I Will Always Love You" singer is no longer alive, Bobbi Kristina is prepared to take her late mom's name and make the transition to Kristina Houston. Insiders tell TMZ that the heiress to Whitney's $20 million fortune is sober and in a "better place," which means the name change is likely imminent. With every little step she takes, Bobbi Kristina's newfound millions get a little further away from her freeloading father, who is supposedly working overtime to weasel his way back into her life.

Well of course she will take the Houston name. Why not long before this? This is clearly a ply to get her name out there in the memory of her mother. Profiting from it even. But if she has even half the talent of her mother, which I have no idea if she does or not, then she will do fine.

She does not have to take on her mother's last name to profit from it, she is already rich and famous. And her name is Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown anyway, so if she wants to drop the others that is her business, but I hope she does not do that, this will just give the haters something else to talk about. NO matter what she does she will always be a Brown.

Regardless of the name change, Bobby Brown is still her father plus she looks more like him that her mother. The last time I saw her with her mother on Good Morning America she didn't have the vocals but we will see.

Please fix your teeth now that you have the money...you want to disa*sociate yourself from your dad well you look just like him when you open your mouth. You can try to have a decent and loving relationship with your dad and siblings but the minute they ask for money just kindly say " no". I remember when I saw you on the show and your half sister was being mean to you but kept hanging on to you because you had a big bundle of money (which I didn't think was appropriate) and your dad made you apologize to her....i felt really bad for you. Stay strong and true to the good in you.

The commotion that Bobby made, may have solidified her name change. Whatever it is, I hope it helps her makes moves upwards versus a humongous spiral down.

yup but whatever she does he is still her father don't care how many names changes guss what he's still your daddy do't know what went down in that relationship but krissey he's still your father he missed up a lot but he's human and so are you but know this old school says what goes around comes around you can count on that keep living cause after the dusk settles then what he's still your father 2 wrongs don't make a right

like i said two wrongs do't make a right he's still your father and always will be just think about what your mom would have wanted even though they were toxic for each other baby girl he's still your father look at the picture down the road when GOD blesses you to have a family you'll be able to look at the experiences you've had to endurer and you'll be able to tell your children before they even have to cross that same bridge in what to look out for

All the other issues is NULL and VOID, but Prayers in all things positive to Bobbi Kristina is for REAL.....Hope good is headed her way in all that she desire..

She'll be alright. Not because of the money or fame, but because she has people around her who love her and will advise her on the right course to follow. As for the name change, we don't know if she wants to distance herself from her father. Check out the web and see how many celebs changed their names and did very well. I wish her well.
