Casey Anthony and Amanda Knox may have gotten off scot free, but Dr. Conrad Murray is one convicted killer who did the crime and will do the time. Judge Michael Pastor handed down the maximum sentence of four years in prison to Murray for his role in Michael Jackson's untimely demise. The cardiologist was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for sedating the King of Pop to death. One bright spot for Dr. Murray is that he will serve his sentence out in the Los Angeles county jail, which means he'll probably only do about half the time. Although Judge Pastor agreed Dr. Murray should have to pay restitution to Jackson's estate, it's unlikely Dr. Murray will ever have the $100 million the prosecution demanded. And it's not like he's going to have gainful employment awaiting him once he's completed his stint in the pokey... What ultimately cost Dr. Murray his freedom was his decision to do the tell-all documentary for money. In the documentary, Dr. Murray basically placed all of the blame on the "Beat It" singer, which hardly thrilled Judge Pastor. He wanted Dr. Murray to take a look at the man in the mirror and accept responsibility for his actions. And he's basically pissed Dr. Murray refused to shoulder any of the blame. Judge Pastor pointed out, "There's umbrage and outrage on the part of Dr. Murray against the decedent." Perhaps the harsh sentence will give Dr. Murray the attitude adjustment he so desperately needs.
