Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick welcomed twin daughters into the world this morning. The couple, who are already mom and dad to 6-year-old James Wilkie Broderick, used a surrogate this time around to carry the bundles of joy. Ironically, 44-year-old Parker and 47-year-old Broderick were expanding their brood as rumors circulated that there was an imminent divorce in their future. Apparently, not so much. In April, the big announcement that no one expected was made. At the time, a representative for the celebs told Us Weekly, "Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed." One news outlet is reporting that the baby girls arrived at a hospital in Ohio. Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick weighed 5 lbs., 11 oz., and Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed 6 pounds. They'll go by Elwell and Hodge, respectively. Gee, why not just name them Bueller? Bueller? The good news for Parker is that she won't have to worry about losing any of that baby weight for the Sex and the City sequel.

I know that those are family names and it never hurts to reach back into family history and keep some of those names around.Do you think they are going to have a normal life anyway growing up whereever they go to school these kids are going to have just as different names.
At least they didn't call either of them Paris or Lindsay.Congratulations to The Brodericks.This is to you Sarah,that's an easy way out of it.You look so good right after the births and really missed no work.

what in the h*ll were they thinking?? my boss is having a baby and i just went thru the whole thing with her about the fact that the kid has to go thru school with this name and the rest of their lives. school kids are BRUTAL! they look for anything to make fun of. i'm also against names that are not easily recognizable as either male or female. i just don't understand. other than that, i think they are a great couple and i wish them all kinds of luck, happiness and best wishes.

I thought Phinneas and Hazel were bad. Good grief. Use some of the money from your hat, SJP, to buy a book w/names for kids if you can't think of any yourselves.

I couldnt agree more those are horrible names exspecially for little girls, It makes them sound like there from a law firm or something like something from the 1960's well anyway congradulations to them both and I wish them much happiness with there new bundles of joy. God Bless

I re-read the article, & picked up the part that I missed before, & that these girls will be called by their middle names of Elwell & Hodge. These sound like Anglican last names. I do kind of like Elwell. It sounds nice, & nerdy. And I think being a nerd is a great thing. I think it would be nice if all of these younger members of Generation X all turn out to be nerds. Nerds are smart. And that's better then being cool or "with it"

i agree with all the others about the names.
Are the parent going to use second names for each child? Well, there is nothing that says the girls won't stop using them and ask to be addressed by their first names. Or they may keep them for kicks!!!
Other than that how lovely that they have 2 new little girls.
