The Daily News is reporting that the 60-year-old musician and his young wife, Katie Lee Joel, are splitting up after 5 years of marriage. The pair released a joint statement: "This decision is the result of much thought and consideration. Billy and Katie remain caring friends, with admiration and respect for each other." Sources allege infidelity on the 27-year-old's side ? she apparently couldn't leave a tender moment alone while hanging out with Israeli fashion designer Yigal Azrouel. Allies for Lee say Joel is no innocent man, philandering while on tour. Both sides deny infidelity, which may come into play in the battle for property and cash, although a prenup is in place. It's a matter of trust, you know?

What the heck???? First of all, there is a 33 year difference between them! 33!!! That's just way too much. Wow. If in fact it is true that BOTH were 'messing' around with other individuals, then they're both in the doghouse. I wonder if she may have married him for the money. Nothing is surprising or shocking in Celebritywood. Good luck to each of them. 33?

Well bmm I agree with you on everything except for the age difference. I believe age is just a number, except if your 20 and dating a 16 year old that is just plain sick but if your of age and you really love someone then it really dosent matter me and my husband are 10 years apart look at katie holmes and tom cruise so age shouldnt matter.They both werent faithful in the relationship and they both know that and if they are strong enough to stay friends after all this is over thats great. I wish them the best of luck.

Carmel, respectively your hubbie and yourself are 10 years apart. My folks are 13 years apart. But 33! I cannot see myself with someone 33 years older than me. BTW, Katie and Tom are 19 years apart, I think that's right. Anyhow, I guess I'm stuck on the number.

bmm......you are funny! 33 is a pretty signifcant number, that is a whole lifetime there. Personally I can't see it, but to each his own. Watch now I'm going to meet a 60 year old and fall madly in love....LOL!!!

in this case the number does matter. another old man chasing after a youn woman. You know it was for the money and only the money. I am also 10 years younger than my spouse, but 33 is nother whole generation.

I agree. Billy Joel is a great man/singer but come on now. Marrying someone who is just a few years older than your own daughter. and it does show. so who was he kidding or thinking?

yeah 33 really is alot of years depending. I am 52 and I wouldn't want a 85 year old husband. Unless there was no prenup and he was rich, Just kidding LOL

Oh,so everyone that falls in love as to see what year is on a birth certificate Before they are allowed to have feelings for someone.I never realized that is how we were supposed to do it.Coulda fooled me.Let me tell Michael Douglas that he's got to get rid of Zeta-Jones.He could have been her father.I don't remember the difference in years but it's alot(20 or more I believe).Why are so many of you throwing stones into other people's yards.It is what it is.They lasted 5 years.What about Brittney and K-Fed they are close in age and didn't make that.So it doesn't matter on the age. It's if they are right for each other or not that should count.
