Slumdog Dad a Scumbag

The dad of child star Rubina Ali is taking child exploitation to a whole new level. In an attempt to cash in on the success of the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire, which featured his daughter, Rafiq Qureshi isn't just trying to peddle her effects --he's actually put a price tag on his daughter's head. The British paper News of the World claims that Qureshi is selling his daughter for as much as $300,000, although he'd originally tried to pawn her off for a mere $75,000 before she became a mainstream success. He nearly quadrupled his asking price after Slumdog's success. Reporters posed as a rich couple to uncover Qureshi's racket. Hardly a contender for father of the year, daddy dearest supposedly already blew through Rubina's earnings for her role in the flick. Qureshi maintains that the paper is lying. Meanwhile, Rubina's mother has gone to police complaining that her ex-husband is trying to sell the little girl.
