John McCain's presidential campaign is stepping on one too many musical toes. Artists such as Van Halen, Jackson Browne, Heart and John Mellencamp have already protested the campaign's use of their songs. Now it's time for the Foos to start Fighting. Dave Grohl's band is upset that McCain/Palin are using their song "My Hero" on the campaign trail without asking permission. Not that the campaign would've gotten it, anyway ? the Foo Fighters hit the campaign trail for Kerry back in 2004. A statement from the band said, "The saddest thing about this is that 'My Hero' was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential. To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song." Hear that, mavericks?
