Car Crash Leaves Singer a Jewel in the Rough
Jewel and her unborn child are lucky to be alive after the singer was in a serious car crash late last week. The "Meant for Me" singer was t-boned by a volunteer fire truck Friday morning. The accident, which happened in Texas, occurred when Erath County Commissioner Jim Pack was rushing to a grass fire with his sirens and lights on. Luckily, the vehicle struck the passenger side of Jewel's SUV. Jewel's rep issued the following statement, "The singer was taken to the hospital and current medical tests conducted indicate that she and the baby are doing fine." Jewel and husband Ty Murray are expecting their first child later this spring. And the crooning cutie maintains she and baby escaped the crash unscathed thanks to her car. She Tweeted, "1 thing I do know is my car saved my & my baby's life. Definitely going to get another Cadillac SRX! It absorbed all the damage and kept me safe!" She later Tweeted, Just a little sore and banged up but feeling so blessed. On Saturday she Tweeted, "Dr said no working out so I'm going to take it easy this weekend."
