David Arquette a Real Smash

Recovering addict David Arquette had plenty of reason to scream on Friday when he was involved in a head-on collision. The estranged husband of Cougar Town leading lady Courteney Cox swerved to avoid a car that slammed on its brakes in front of the actor. However, the maneuver sent him spinning into oncoming traffic, where he drove his silver Cadillac into another vehicle. At the time, the Scream star was headed to the Burbank airport where he was on his way to the opening of the Sugar Factory, a candy store in Las Vegas. Arquette was whisked away in an ambulance. However, it wasn't long before he took to the Twitter waves to let everyone know that he was alive, kicking and cracking jokes. Arquette Tweeted, "I got into a car accident but I'm fine. Luckily I have dragon's blood running through my veins. Haha. Thank you for your concern." Arquette followed up with a quick public service announcement, telling his followers, "remember to wear your searbelt -- wish I was." Despite the frightening experience, Arquette still had his priorities straight... along with himself. Over the weekend, he gave the following update, "Refused all pain medication -- may the record state -- still sober! It was a miracle the woman I hit was uninjured -- Thank God!" Arquette is currently working on his sobriety after completing a stint in rehab. Now, it looks like he has another kind of recovery to focus on following his car crash.
