Vick in the Doghouse with Oprah?

If Michael Vick has been looking for redemption, he won't be getting from the Queen of All Media. The football player, who served time in prison for dogfighting, was set to do his first post-prison interview with Oprah Winfrey. However, he backed out of the heavily hyped interview less than a week before the scheduled airdate. Reps for Harpo issued the following statement to Radaronline.com, "Michael Vick was scheduled to be a guest on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' for an episode airing next Thursday, February 24. Mr. Vick's representatives called last night to cancel his appearance for personal reasons." The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback pulled the plug on the television interview saying, "After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22." Ironically, Winfrey and CNN's Piers Morgan were competing to see who could land the problematic ball player. Winfrey backed out of the bet right before it came out that she had, in fact, sealed the deal to interview Vick. Now it appears Morgan and Winfrey are both losing out. Vick added that he's looking forward to a future with Winfrey, "I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future."
