Jonathan Knight: Not the New Kid on the Gay Block

Jonathan Knight is coming out... again. Although people have been acting as if the popular boybander has been hiding his sexuality, the New Kid on the Block singer says that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, he's been out and about for two decades. The buzz around the 42-year-old's sexual preferences began when former flame and one-time teen pop idol Tiffany told Bravo's Andy Cohen that she and Knight dated when they toured together. She went on to point out that he later switched teams. While the media has turned her comments into mayhem, Knight issued a statement to set the record straight about being gay. He says, "I have never been outed by anyone but myself! I did so almost twenty years ago. I never knew that I would have to do it all over again publicly just because I reunited with NKOTB! I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact that I am gay! Apparently the prerequisite to being a gay public figure is to appear on the cover of a magazine with the caption 'I am gay'. I apologize for not doing so if this is what was expected!" And Knight says it will be a cold day in hell before he goes on the record to discuss his love life. He adds, "I love living my life being open and honest, but at this time I choose not to discuss my private life any further! My fellow band members don't discuss their private lives with their loved ones and I don't feel that just because I am gay, I should have to discuss mine!"
