Who says Hollywood isn't forgiving? Despite being caught up in the worst publicity nightmare of his career, Mel Gibson is apparently still in demand. Not too shabby for a guy who's being accused of punching his girlfriend in the mouth and verbally abusing her. Gibson has been tapped for a cameo in what's likely to be the biggest blockbuster of 2011. According to the New York Post, the temperamental actor is set to start filming for The Hangover 2. The Post is reporting that Gibson "will make a cameo as a tattoo artist. Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot, where a Bangkok set has been built, and Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand at the end of October." Although it may sound suspect seeing how Gibson was fired by his talent agency and is all but considered a pariah these days in Tinseltown, one of his lone pals Jodie Foster confirms the scoop telling Extra, "He really liked the humor in that first [Hangover] movie, so I'm glad he'll be in it!" It goes without saying that the recovering alcoholic who coined the phrase "sugar t*ts" likely knows a thing or two about drunken antics. Director Todd Phillips told Empire magazine that the sequel will be every bit as entertaining as the first. Phillips says, "It takes place in Bangkok and L.A.There's gonna be some f---ed-up surprises." Gibson may be a new addition to the franchise, but the main players including Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Ken Jeong will all return.
