Baldwin Hospitalized After Suicide Threats

It's definitely complicated for Alec Baldwin. Maybe it was the stress from his upcoming gig as Oscar co-host, but something sent the 30 Rock star to the hospital Thursday morning. Baldwin's 14-year-old daughter Ireland, better known as that "rude, thoughtless little pig," called 911 after supposedly finding her dad "unresponsive." Apparently, his catatonic state didn't last too long, as he was coherent enough to agree to the trip to the hospital when paramedics and cops arrived at his Manhattan apartment. The 51-year-old comeback kid was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital but released after just an hour. The Associated Press is telling a different story, reporting that Baldwin's daughter with Kim Bassinger only called 911 after the Emmy-winning actor threatened to take a bunch of pills while they were arguing. But according to Baldwin's rep it was all a big "misunderstanding." Says Matthew Hiltzik, "'This was a misunderstanding on one person's part. Alec was quickly released from the hospital, he's completely fine and will be at work today." Sounds like that "misunderstanding" had something to do with a little suicide threat.
