The L.A. County Coroner has had a busy week - the office released causes of death for both Brittany Murphy and Casey Johnson on Thursday, according to TMZ. Johnson, who was a diabetic, died of diabetic ketoacidosis, a condition in which her body was severely insulin deficient. She had been hospitalized twice previously for diabetic comas before she died. Sources tell TMZ that she simply "neglected" herself by not taking her insulin shots and other medications, not following her diet or exercising. Her death was "natural," according to the death certificate. Brittany Murphy's death was "preventable," according to TMZ's source, and her death was ruled "accidental." Murphy died on Dec. 20 of pneumonia, iron deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication. The coroner wrote "drug intake" as the way the "injury occurred" on her death certificate. Prescription and over-the-counter drugs were found in her system; however, Murphy hadn't seen a doctor in the months prior to her death. And the plot thickens - the coroner's office isn't satisfied with the toxicology report, so Murphy's husband and mother are being re-interviewed and the house is being re-inspected for any clues. Sources say someone would deliver prescription medications to the house every Friday in an envelope marked "Lola." Her hubby, Simon Monjack, recently cancelled a kickoff party and fundraiser for his bank account, erm, the Brittany Murphy Foundation. Oddly enough, he's suffering from pneumonia.
