New Rehab Plans for Dr. Drew
Television personality and addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky is going back to rehab, only this time he'll help the average Joe. According to Radaronline.com, VH-1 is launching a new series called Rehab with Dr. Drew. The reality show will follow real people struggling with addictions. Same story, different cast. In fact, patients will undergo the same treatment plan at the same facility as Dr. Drew's former celebrity patients. Dr. Drew has treated such celebrities as Jeremy London, Michael Lohan, Jeff Conaway, Gary Busey, Tawny Kitaen, Jason Davis, Jason Wahler, Eric Roberts, Leif Garrett and others. Although there won't be any famous faces on the new show, Dr. Drew is just as devoted to helping his new patients kick their habits. He released the following statement, "I am so excited to once again have the opportunity to educate viewers about the deadly disease of addiction. More than 85 million Americans are affected by addiction, whether they've faced the disease themselves or have supported family members or friends through a substance abuse issue. The stigma and shame associated with drug and alcohol addiction prevents many from getting the help that they need. It is my sincere hope that this show will encourage people who are struggling to seek the help. Treatment works and there is hope and recovery is possible." Dr. Drew is definitely staying busy. In addition to his latest endeavor, he also hosts the radio talk show Loveline, the daytime talk show Dr. Drew's Lifechangers and Dr. Drew on HLN.
