Brooke Shields Settles with Mother Muggers

Those bad mothers at the National Enquirer are going to be sorry they ever messed with Brooke Shields' family. After one of its reporters ganked her mom from her New Jersey nursing home two weeks ago, allegedly to get details for a story, Brooke's lawyer has strongarmed the publication into not publishing any information about 72-year-old Teri Shields, who suffers from dementia. The tab will also print a public apology and make a "generous donation to further research on dementia and to encourage others to do so," according to attorney Gerald B. Lefcourt. At the time, police alerted Brooke that her mother had been signed out under the pretense that the reporter was a friend, who drove Teri Shields around in search of a story.
