Natalie Cole Gets an Unforgettable Gift

Long-suffering singer Natalie Cole got a new lease on life as she finally received the kidney transplant she's been holding out for, thanks to One Legacy, an organ procurement agency. The recovering addict's health has gone downhill as she battles Hepatitis C. Cole has been on kidney dialysis three times a week since last fall. Her rep told the gossip mag that the "Unforgettable" singer is "resting comfortably" following the operation. Despite her poor health, the daughter of Nat King Cole has continued to tour. This past February, Cole told Entertainment Tonight that she'll forge on despite the obstacles she's facing, "Things happen for a reason, I've always been kind of a survivor type of girl. I'm strong, I have a lot of faith. I'm looking forward to having a good year. In spite of the health issues, I think I'm going to be fine." Here's to a speedy recovery.
