David Cook Loses His Brother
SPONSORED:
The cancer-stricken older brother of American Idol David Cook passed away from terminal brain cancer over the weekend. A family friend told Radaronline.com, "Adam passed away peacefully. He was surrounded by his family, including his wife Kendra, his children, his father and his step-mom, among others." Adam, a 37-year-old married father and lawyer, was a huge inspiration for David when he competed on American Idol last season. Adam was there in the front row at the season finale last year while he was still undergoing chemotherapy to try and beat the deadly disease. Despite the devastating loss, David participated in the Washington, D.C., Race for Hope 5k to raise money for the benefit for brain cancer research to ensure his brother didn't die in vain. David, who was both the grand marshal and a participant, told the crowd, "I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now." David's team raised almost $100,000. He also told those who attended the race, "I lost one today, but I gained 9,000 [friends] and I will be here every year that they will have me." David had cancelled a couple of tour dates in March to say his final goodbyes to his brother. He wasn't expected to live much longer at that point.
