Just an Illusion: Angel and Madison Break Up

The magic is gone between Playboy playmate Holly Madison and illusionist Criss Angel. The odd couple, which made for strange bedfellows, has pulled a disappearing act after dating for less than six months. Initially, the dynamic duo was hot and heavy after Madison broke up with Playboy head honcho Hugh Hefner back in October. According to Us Weekly, Madison's move to Las Vegas to follow 41-year-old Angel wasn't all it appeared to be. Rumors of an impending breakup started circulating earlier this month, indicating that the end was near. One source told the magazine that it wasn't long before Madison, 29, started having regrets, especially as she made the transition for girl next door to groupie, "All she's doing is following Criss Angel around to all of his magic shows, with no legitimate job to speak of. She's still heartbroken and regretful about how things went down with Hef. Then she ran into the arms of Criss Angel. But then it's like, 'This is not everything I thought it would be.'" E! Online is reporting that the amicable split was hard for Madison, who was head over heels for her Angel. "She was very much in love with him, and they're still very close friends. It was a conflict of schedules. She felt she couldn't devote 100 percent of her time in Vegas and his career at the expense of her career and her goals." Obviously, the blonde bombshell realized her 15 minutes of fame were going to quickly expire if she stuck around Sin City as Angel's sidekick.
