Britney Spears is joining a new circus. The pop princess has signed on to be a judge on Simon Cowell's X Factor. The "Toxic" singer has supposedly been in talks with the powers that be for some time. Judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were both fired after just one season of the highly anticipated show, which was greeted with a lukewarm acceptance. According to multiple media outlets, the acerbic Brit has been in talks with many A-list celebrities to boost the show's ratings. Apparently, Spears is his go-to girl. Of course, everything has its price -- and Spears' is a whopping $15 million a year. Before Spears could be a part of the Fox show, the courts had to grant approval. According to E! News, Spears had to speak to a judge before she could become a judge. An insider tells Radaronline.com that Brit's conservators had to give their stamp of approval before Spears could be a part of the show. Says the source, "Britney can't legally sign any documents because she is under the conservatorship. She is thrilled to be joining the show and is very, very excited. Britney has always been extremely supportive of artists trying to make it into the business and it's a natural fit for her. Britney will be traveling to the out-of-state auditions, and the schedule will be worked out so she won't miss any custodial time with her sons. The boys will have their own playroom on the X Factor set so Britney can spend as much time with them as possible." Spears' new job isn't the only thing she has to look forward to -- fiancee Jason Trawick recently asked the courts if he could become one of her conservators. He will oversee her personal affairs, not her professional ones.
