Former Fugees singer and Haiti advocate Wyclef Jean was shot over the weekend, according to multiple media reports. Jean was in Haiti for the presidential elections and campaigning on behalf of Michel Martelly. Although he was initially a candidate for the race, he was disqualified because he hadn't been a resident of the impoverished nation for five consecutive years. One he was eliminated, Jean threw his support behind Martelly. Jean has been an outspoken proponent who's lobbied tirelessly for aid of his native country since the devastating earthquake. According to TMZ, Jean was wounded in the hand when he was grazed by a bullet. His rep issued the following statement, "He's fine now. It happened late yesterday night and he was released after a couple hours." His Twitter page reads, "We have spoken to Wyclef, he is ok. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers - Management."
