The MTV Video Music Awards was the wild show everyone expects it to be - even Kanye West and Taylor Swift were there to perform - very separately. Taylor even performed a song she wrote about the infamous incident when Kanye interrupted her acceptance speech for best video last year. The much-hyped song included lyrics that point out the error and immaturity of his ways: "32 is still growing up now." Aww, get over it, honey. Kanye fired back with a celebration of his kind - a song that went a little something like this: "Let's have a toast for the douchebags/let's have a toast for the a**holes/let's have a toast for the scumbags.../Baby, I got a plan/Run away as fast as you can." Wise words, 'Ye. The VMAs' first-time host, Chelsea Handler, did a serviceable job schmoozing with awards presenters, even hopping into the infamous Jersey Shore hot tub with the cast and emerging with a baby bump. Hardy har-har. The big winner of the evening was of course Lady Gaga, who donned at least three outrageous outfits for the event, including a getup that appeared to be made from meat, which she wore to accept her award for best video of the year. She even asked the presenter - Cher - to hold her meat purse. Let's hope PETA wasn't watching.
