Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson, the 78-year-old wife of Mel Gibson's dad, is asking the court to show some restraint by keeping the hot-headed actor far away from her. Joye was served with divorce papers last month from John Hutton Gibson, a move she says was instigated by Mel and/or sister Maura. The elder Gibson and Joye tied the knot back in December 2001. However, she recently began having issues with Gibson's adult children over the 93-year-old's medical care. In the court documents, Hicks' attorney states Mel, his sister Maura and Joye disagreed on Hutton's medical care. And Mel made it clear that Joye's views on anything were not welcome and only caused him to be irritated and were ignored." Joye claims she has been bullied by her stepchildren and points to a recent incident in May 2012 when Mel became "incensed and began acting like a wild man." She adds that he was so angry his spit was hitting her face. She maintains that he is a "very dangerous man" and says "it is only a matter of time before Mel crosses the line even further and physically assaults me." In the petition, she asks that Mel remain 100 yards away from her and "not block or interfere with my attempts to communicate with my husband, Hutton Gibson."

Good for you, for standing up for your father's health against the old wind bag.
