Tragedy struck Expendables 2 star Sylvester Stallone over the weekend when his oldest son was found dead. According to multiple media sources, the body of 36-year-old Sage Stallone was discovered in his apartment by a housekeeper. Sources tell TMZ that he had likely been dead for at least three to four days or as many as seven days. Sage, who made his film debut in Rocky V, supposedly "lived like Howard Hughes." A recluse, he would hole up in his room for days at a time, surrounded by trash including cigarette butts, beer and soda cans, and food. Ultimately, none of those things killed him. Sources say it was the two drawers stockpiled with pill bottles that led to his demise. So far no cause of death has been given. The last time anybody spoke with Sly's eldest offspring was last Friday. Although the housekeeper had been in the Studio City house early in the week, he wasn't permitted to go near his room. One police insider tells TMZ, the room was "disgusting," and had a number of awful odors. It was Sage's mother Sasha Czack, who had the housekeeper check on Sage's wellbeing. Unfortunately, it was too late to do any good. But Sage's attorney George Braunstein maintains that his client didn't drink or do drugs. He tells E! News, "Never, no, not from the day I met him. I never knew him to drink alcohol. I never saw him take drugs. I never knew of anything like that." He also claims that Sage's mother saw no pill bottles, only empty cans of Doc Brown's Cream Soda. He adds, "I think it was either natural causes or a terrible accident. I don't think it had anything to do with drugs." Meanwhile, Sylvester is said to be devastated by Sage's death. His rep, Michelle Bega, issued the following statement, "Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever."
