You'd think Dane Cook's tasteless comments about the Aurora, Colo., shootings recently would be a lesson in "too soon" for other comedians. But during the taping of the roast of Roseanne Barr, all bets were off for roaster Jeff Ross. TMZ reports that he showed up to tape the show in costume, dressed as Joe Paterno, with two shirtless boys in tow. Ross started in immediately with a burn for redheaded Seth Green, telling him, “Seth, congratulations. This is actually a great night for you ... you haven’t gotten this much attention since you shot all those people in Aurora. ... I’m kidding. You are not like James Holmes. At least he did something in a movie theater that people remember!” Oof. The joke went over like a lead balloon, and Comedy Central brass cut that part of the show faster than you can say Robot Chicken. And in other roast news, Tom Arnold has reneged on his promise to let bygones be bygones. As TMZ reported previously, Arnold's reps said he had "no interest" in roasting his ex. It's no secret that the acrimonious exes haaaaate each other, so why the change of heart? TMZ reports Arnold called producers at the very last minute to participate in the roast...in order to bury the hatchet with Barr. With jokes like, "She may not be the perfect wife, but she is literally the worst f-ing EX-WIFE on the planet ... trust me," what could possibly go wrong?
