Since being publicly humiliated by longtime girlfriend and Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, British babe Robert Pattinson has been on the receiving end of flowers, candies and marriage proposals, oh my. According to Radaronline.com, fans of the popular 26-year-old actor have showered him with notes and gifts to ease his pain. But leave it to Pattinson to take the offerings and make a heartwarming gesture of his own. Everything he has received is being sent directly to local hospitals and nursing homes. Pattinson is supposedly broken-hearted after finding out that his girlfriend of four years has been cheating on him with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. An insider tells Radaronline.com that since the affair was revealed, Pattinson has been overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers. Says the source, "Robert has been incredibly touched by the support he has received from the Twihards since news of Kristen’s affair with Rupert broke. He’s been inundated with boxes of chocolates, roses, notes that have slammed Kristen and asked how he is, as well as bizarre marriage proposals. However, his kind heart has got the better of him, and in a selfless act he decided to send all the gifts he received to local hospitals and senior citizens’ homes." The insider adds that Pattinson feels like he didn't do anything to earn the tokens of affection. However, he didn't want them to be in vain. The source adds, "So, he decided to redirect them to places he felt warranted receiving such gifts." It has been just two weeks since Us Weekly published intimate photos of Stewart and Sanders looking way too close for comfort. Stewart immediately issued the following apology: "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry." Pattinson has been hiding out at a California ranch owned by actress Reese Witherspoon, his Water for Elephants co-star. He will appear on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Monday to promote his new film Cosmopolis.
