Mezhgan Hussainy may seem crazy for agreeing to marry cranky Simon Cowell, but the second time around is a major improvement for the divorced makeup artist. Hussainy and her family fled Taliban-ruled Afghanistan and shortly after immigrating to the United States, the then-19-year-old became betrothed to an affluent Southern California rug merchant in 1988, a move believed to lift her family out of poverty and help her continue her schooling. However, family members report that the beauty was miserable at her wedding and during the union, which lasted eight years, ending when her husband left her. She moved back in with her parents, worked as an underwear model and eventually got a job as a makeup artist on American Idol. The acerbic judge took notice, and the two started dating a few months after his split with Terri Seymour in 2008. This summer, the two will marry in what will prove to be a ridiculously lavish affair, considering Cowell's vast fortune. But one thing is sure - he's head over heels for Hussainy and told TV host Piers Morgan, "Love is something that is quite confusing. You just know when you've found somebody special."
