What's a little lawsuit between frenemies? Veteran actor Joe Pesci may be suing the pants off of producers of the upcoming John Gotti biopic, but that's not stopping them from trying to keep him on the payroll. Pesci packed on 30 pounds to play one of Gotti's closest associates, Angelo Ruggiero. However, after Pesci transformed into a heavyweight, producers decided they wanted him for a smaller role with a smaller paycheck (1/3 of his original $3 million salary). Pesci pulled out of the project but not before demanding his $3 million paycheck. Despite all of the bad blood, Marc Fiore, CEO of Fiore Films, has high hopes that the good fella will come around and stay onboard. Fiore tells Radaronline.com, "During the past few days, there have been erroneous reports in the media that I have been making less than favorable comments about Joe Pesci. For the record, I am extremely fond of Joe, think he is a terrific actor and very much want him to be in the Gotti movie. It's unfortunate we have become embroiled in a lawsuit; however, I am hopeful that we will resolve our differences and Joe will accept an offer from us to be in the film." We say that the chances are slim, like Pesci's former figure.
