TLC is going to be on the hunt for a new village idiot. That's because former Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has pulled the plug on her heavily hyped reality television show Sarah Palin's Alaska. Although the series was a surprising success with more than 3.2 million people tuning in to see Palin taking the bull(crap) by the horn, the show was panned by critics. It was like watching a trainwreck that viewers just couldn't turn away from. Ironically, it was Palin who opted not to sign on for a second season. She apparently has bigger and better things to focus on - like, say, a run for President in 2012. If a choice had to be made between watching Palin play tour guide or seeing her sitting in the Oval Office, we're betting most people would consider Palin's Alaska must-see TV. Insiders say that unlike Kate Gosselin, who hated appearing on Sarah Palin's Alaska, the politician got off on filming the show. Unfortunately, she couldn't have it all. In the event she does run for office in '12, TLC would be obligated to give her opponents equal air time, which would probably be more painstaking than giving Jon Gosselin his own show. The two-hour series finale of Sarah Palin's Alaska aired Sunday night.
