Corey Feldman lost his best friend and "brother" Corey Haim last week, but he has no intentions of attending the former child star's funeral. The Two Coreys co-stars were friends until the end; however, Feldman won't make an appearance at Haim's funeral, which is being held in Toronto. The Lost Boys actor released the following statement regarding his decision not to attend Haim's last act. "In the days following my best friend Corey Haim's death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me. I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey's funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey's funeral on Tuesday a small private affair. Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family's wishes, I have decided not to attend. Instead, I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial. As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice. I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month. At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community." What Feldman means is anyone's guess. But we're guessing maybe he wanted a funeral fit for a Hollywood king, while Haim's family opted for something on a smaller scale. Either that or he felt his mere presence would be such a huge media attraction that it would cheapen the funeral for Haim's family. Haim passed away last week at the age of 38. Although no cause of death has been given, many people believe his death was related to an overdose on prescription pills. At least four prescription bottles for Valium, Vicodin, Soma and Haloperidol were found near Haim's body.
