Nikki Blonsky may only be 22, but she's already showing signs of being a has-been. The Hairspray actress' career was blowing up back in the day. However, these days, she's in a major slump and recently had to take a job working in a local shoe store. Blonsky took the gig after her most recent project Huge was cancelled by ABC Family. E! Online maintains that despite her famous background, she's had no problem eating humble pie and making the most of selling shoes. An insider tells E! that Blonsky has really stepped up to the plate, per her employer: "Steven says she's one of the best employees he's ever had! Nikki had known Steven for a long time. When she started her career she got shoes, bags and accessories from the store for red carpets but recently approached him about working at the store." Although she's stayed positive about the move from acting to retail, the insider acknowledges it's been a huge step back for Blonsky, who was working at Cold Stone Creamery when she was first discovered. Says the source, "It's a little uncomfortable for [Nikki] obviously, but the customer will ask her to sign her autograph on the receipt and she does. She's really sweet to the little kids that come in the store. She even sings and dances for the customers, busting out the tunes from 'Hairspray!'" The insider adds it won't be long before she's moving on to bigger and better things, "She's supposedly working on a project that will catapult her career, something bigger than 'Hairspray.'"

Its not a step back, its a step in the right direction. Work is work is work. I hope she gets a big movie deal or something in the future, but unlike her counter parts, she didn't jump off a cliff into drugs and depression, she put her big toe into reality.
Good for her.
