Talk about a real-life soap opera. On-again, off-again couple Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner are both being investigated by police after the estranged couple came to blows last month. According to TMZ, the LAPD has quietly opened a file on the famous actress and actor after an argument between the two became hands-on. One law enforcement insider tells the site, "She lost it on him and he retaliated." Although neither party wants to press charges against each other, it's now out of their hands as the City Attorney is reviewing the case. The former Melrose Place vixen and the Bold and the Beautiful actor must both appear for a hearing with prosecutors. While the City Attorney can opt to press charges against either one of them (or both), the source tells TMZ it's unlikely to happen. Star magazine managed to score the dirty details of the epic argument that resulted in the legal turmoil. A source tells star that Wagner went to Locklear's Sherman Oaks home to return some of her things. The source says, "A huge argument erupted as they insulted each other's families. As Heather went to her car, Jack lunged at her, trying to grab or push her. Her reaction was to swing. She caught Jack with a right hook across his face, knocking him to the ground." Wagner supposedly grabbed Locklear, and she slammed into the car. He bolted into the house, while she left the scene with his dog. The police showed up and found Wagner a little bruised and battered but found his wounds were caused in self defense. The former Melrose Place co-stars called of their engagement just two months ago after more than four years together. Last week, Locklear was hospitalized after taking a deadly mix of prescription pills and alcohol. Her family is currently trying to convince her to check into rehab for her substance abuse issues. Sounds like she could use a crash course in anger management as well to tame her inner Amanda Woodward.
