The latest celebrity feud brewing is between Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and MTV. The snubbed singer, whose band isn't up for any moonmen, lashed out at the network that was once a home for music programming. Today, it's more famous for such gems as Teen Mom, Jersey Shore and other raunchy reality shows. However, the annual MTV Video Music Awards is hardly this artist's choice... for anything. Levine Tweeted, "The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I'm drawing a line in the sand. F--k you, VMAs." Levine is currently one of the judges on NBC's hit show The Voice. Never one to walk away from a confrontation, MTV fired back at the 32-year-old musician on Twitter, writing, "Soooo you'll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right? (BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!)" The rebuttal hardly caused Levine to retract his earlier statement. He followed up with, "Still waiting to have my 'Jerry Maguire mission statement moment of deep regret.' Not happening. Phew!" It could have been considered a case of "don't bite the hand that feeds you," but MTV no longer plays music videos. So it looks like he's in the clear. No word if the whole attack stems from some seriously sour grapes over his band's lack of nominations this year. You be the judge...
