Lady's Choice? Madonna Goes Gaga Over Rival

When it comes to Lady Gaga, it's hard to decipher how Madonna really feels about the controversial singer. Although Gaga has always tried to remain a lady when it comes to her Madgesty, the "Express Yourself" singer at times struggles to retain her composure about her younger, hipper counterpart. However, it appears Madonna has recently had a change of heart. During her Atlantic City concert over the weekend, Madonna appeared to show some love to Gaga when she told the audience, "I'm going to dedicate this next song…to Lady Gaga. You wanna know something? I love her. I love her. I do love her. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. But one day, very soon, we're going to be on stage together. Just you wait. You think I'm kidding? I love Lady Gaga." Sounds like a back-handed compliment to us. Whether there is any truth behind Madonna's cryptic message is anybody's guess. Just last month, Lady Gaga went on the offense and took some jabs at her mentor saying, "I don’t give a f*ck what people say. We don’t give a f*ck -- we know the truth." And Gaga didn't stop there. She showed the audience her thong, as Madonna has recently done. From there she performed "Like a Prayer," in the same fashion where Madonna recently sang "Born This Way" during a concert. Of course, much of the feud stems from Madonna's ire that "Born This Way" is a "reductive" imitation of "Express Yourself." Earlier this year, Madonna told 20/20 that Gaga: "references me a lot in her work and sometimes I think it's amusing and flattering and well done … there's a lot of ways to look at it. I can't really be annoyed by it ... because, obviously, I've influenced her." Only time will tell if these two will kiss and make up.
