From supermom to supermodel? While former TLC reality star Kate Gosselin has come a long way since her early days in the spotlight when she was frumpy with bad hair, a glamorous makeover does not a model make. That said, the mother of eight will be walking the runway during New York Fashion Week -- and it's all in the name of charity. The sexy 37-year-old reality star has signed on to be part of "Real Fashion, Real Women," which will feature 21 real women and 5 celebrity models with some professional models thrown in for good measure. According to show organizer Derek Warburton, they courted the former Kate Plus Eight star, not the other way around. Warburton tells the Huffington Post, "We reached out to Kate's people, and they came back right away and said yes. She loved it. Kate is so nice, sweet and accommodating and cool. She started writing us directly." Although Kate has displayed no diva-like behavior, her haters haven't been so kind. Warburton maintains that they started getting serious flack as soon as Gosselin signed on. Warburton explains, "We have all been in Twitter wars about Kate. They were attacking us for having her in the show. I responded saying, 'Listen, we are not paying her. She is doing this out of the goodness of her heart.' What's remarkable is every time we get a nasty tweet about Kate, she writes and apologizes. She doesn't care about the haters, but she cares about us, the charity. She must have apologized to me five times for what people say about her." Controversy aside, Warburton guarantees that the single mom of eight will be dressed to kill. So prepare to see Gosselin working it once again.
