Yo-yo dieter Jessica Simpson wanted so badly to lose her baby fat that she actually tried to get approved for weight-loss surgery. Luckily, she didn't make the cut. According to Radaronline.com, the Fashion Star judge was rejected by doctors who felt she was not a good candidate for the for stomach surgery. A Simpson confidante tells Radaronline.com that Simpson didn't ever think she'd be able to win the battle of the bulge, especially after packing on at least 70 pounds. Says the source: "After having her daughter Maxwell, Jessica felt there was no way she could ever lose the weight on her own because she has struggled so much in the past and her postpartum weight seemed to be growing." That's when the 32-year-old buxom blonde attempted to take a more drastic approach for whittling down her waistline. The insider adds: "So like a true Hollywood girl, she sought out a quick surgical fix -- lap band surgery!" After consulting two different doctors, both of whom rejected her for the procedure, Simpson was "persuaded to keep pushing to do it the natural way." She eventually signed on with Weight Watchers (for a cool $4 million paycheck). In addition to the eating program, she also exercises with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak numerous times a week. The source also reveals that friends and family worried that the extra weight would drag her down emotionally. The source says, "She has had to deal with the blues in the past. So everyone was thrilled that she has avoided PPD. With the doctors' words and her friends' encouragement, she is finally shedding the pounds without surgery!"
