It's common knowledge that Jay -Z, aka Shawn Carter, supports President Barack Obama. But he also sees eye-to-eye with the president on some controversial issues. The country might have 99 problems, but Jay-Z doesn't see why same-sex marriage should be one of them. In an interview with CNN, Hova declared his support for gay marriage and said not granting that right is, in fact, "holding the country back." He was in the process of announcing his Philadelphia Labor Day music festival to benefit the United Way when CNN asked his thoughts on President Obama's declaration. "What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. [It] is no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination, plain and simple," Jay said. He said he wasn't worried about voter backlash -- "It's really not about votes. It's about people... I think it's the right thing to do." Now if he could just stop using the B-word and the N-word in his songs...
