Phillip Phillips' health issues were well-documented during season 11 of American Idol. The native Georgian, who suffers from chronic kidney stones, powered through the season despite nearly quitting the competition due to the pain and complications. "It was rough at times, and there were a couple of times I thought about going ahead and getting the surgery done...But I had a lot of great doctors and a lot of great people who helped me out through it. I'm blessed to have had that," Phillips told E! News. But he's on the road to recovery now that he's been released from the hospital after having yet another surgery on June 7 to get his kidneys reconstructed. Late Monday, he told E! News that he was out of the hospital and ready to get the Idol show on the road. Until the tour kicks off July 6 in Detroit, Phillips will be holed up at an AI honcho's Malibu mansion, TMZ reports. "If I can sing with all those kidney stones in me, I can make the first date," he says.
