Excess amounts of alcohol and prescription pills do not a good combination make. Just ask former Melrose Place vixen Heather Locklear, who spent part of last week hospitalized while recovering from a dangerous mix of the two. The 50-year-old blonde bombshell is now fighting a media firestorm after news got out that she had possibly ODed yet again. According to multiple news outlets, Locklear's sister called 911 because the actress was allegedly "out of control" after consuming Xanax and tossing back drinks. After arriving at her house, paramedics rushed Locklear to the hospital for treatment. Just two days prior, Locklear was photographed looking drunk as a skunk as a friend attempted to take her drink away at a Lakers' game. An insider says that "Heather becomes a different person on drugs." Locklear's self-destructive tendencies shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Her engagement to longtime love Jack Wagner was recently called off. Sources told Entertainment Tonight the couple parted ways because Wagner's sober and Locklear's a hot, self-medicating mess. Of course, leave it to Locklear's enablers, er, parents, to put a positive spin on the situation. Bill and Diane Locklear released a statement that said "She is in no danger and she's going to be just fine." However, she definitely has a history of this type of behavior. A similar incident occurred back in 2008 when her doctor called 911 because she was suicidal. She later did a stint in rehab. Now it looks like she's up to her old habits. An insider tells People, "Heather is in bed all the time, usually four days out of the week. Hung over, she lays in bed; she's depressed, she just hangs out." Daughter Ava is staying with Lockear's ex-husband Richie Sambora, who also has had his own struggles with sobriety. No word on whether or not Locklear will soon be making a run for rehab.
