The dog days are over for singer extraordinaire Florence Welch. At least for now. The beautiful Brit had to pull the plug on the next leg of her European tour after she "felt something snap." The 25-year-old "Shake It Out" singer was scheduled to appear at music festivals in Spain and Portugal this week. However, a vocal injury forced her to cancel upcoming shows or risk losing her vivacious voice forever. Florence apologized profusely to her fans on the band's Web site, explaining the serious nature of her vocal issues. She wrote, "Hello everyone, thank you so much for all your messages of support, yes it's true... it finally happened, I've lost my voice. I've sustained a vocal injury and been told I cannot sing for a week ... seriously I felt something snap, it was very frightening. Unfortunately this means I will not be able to perform at Benicassim and Optimus Alive festival this weekend ... I am so so sorry. I'm so sorry to all the fans, I was desperate to still perform, but was told without question not to, so as not to do permanent damage ... I hope I can make it up to you in the future, have an amazing time .. .yours croakily, Florence." Hopefully, the silent treatment will work for Florence, who is scheduled to perform in British Columbia at the end of the month. So far, the show is set to go on.
