Episodes featuring the newest American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres haven't even aired yet, but when they do, expect tension thicker than Ryan Seacrest's hair gel. Word around the set is that the meanest judge - Simon Cowell - rubs the newbie the wrong way, and the two are clashing big-time. Radaronline.com reports things got off on the wrong foot right off the bat, when Simon showed up an hour and a half late for the first show's taping. Earlier reports claim that Ellen, who has rearranged her show's schedule to appear on Idol, got ticked when Simon showed up an hour and a half later than expected for the taping. But a source who was there told Radar, "He showed up exactly 14 minutes late." The show started taping anyway, alienating the cranky one further from his new nemesis. Reportedly, Ellen contacted the guy who brought her to the show, Mike Darnell, Fox's alternative programming chief, and told him to "hurry up and pick" Simon's successor for next season. Since then, Radar reported that the duo are no longer speaking - awkward for Randy and Kara, to be sure. The Brit has already announced that Ellen won't have to deal with him much longer - this is his last season on Idol before he goes on to develop Britain's hit, The X-Factor, stateside.
