Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young: From Idol to "I Do"

American Idol winner Phillip Phillips got upstaged by a very Idol proposal on Wednesday night's season finale. The lucky couple was none other than former American Idol contestants Ace Young from season five, and girlfriend Diana DeGarmo from season three. During the finale, Ryan Seacrest was discussing American Idol alumni and summoned the two to the stage. Of course, there was an agenda to their convenient appearance. Once the two got on the stage, Young dropped to his knee to give the performance of a lifetime. He explained that it was the perfect place "to ask a simple question." Young told his girlfriend, "We have conquered Broadway together ... we have created new music together ... we have an amazing group of people around us ... and with the help of David Webb jewelry, I have a way to make this fun last forever. Diana Nicole DeGarmo ... will you ... marry me?" Of course, DeGarmo gushed over the proposal and accepted, telling him, "Yes! Wow babe, you picked a good one!" Adding even more cheese to the mix, Seacrest chimed in with "Anything can happen because of Idol." Nothing like a little shameless plug for the proposal. DeGarmo and Young became a couple during their stint on Broadway.
