An interactive play at the McKittrick Hotel in New York hit way too close to home for troubled musician Courtney Love over the weekend. Love had originally signed on to do a reading of a short story called "Solace" to go along with a new series called "The Forgotten." However, the Hole singer pulled out and opted just to attend the presentation of "The Forgotten." According to Page Six, guests move "down a long hallway" and go from room to room where there are "nearly identical models in pink nighties" who are "taking pills, writhing on a couch or smoking cigarettes." An eyewitness says the all-too-familiar scene obviously struck a chord with the hard-partying rocker, who apparently brought along the crazy for the evening. The source tells Page Six, "You'd turn a corner and suddenly there'd be another girl up against the wall. Walking through, Courtney started saying, "Get me out of here. I have to get out of here!' " A second source says the druggie drama proved to be way too much for Kurt Cobain's widow, who battles her own substance abuse issues. The insider adds, "She bolted for the exit, albeit the wrong one, mid-performance which did nothing to calm her anxiety. All these models acting like pill-crazed lunatics then came out of character to console her. She felt trapped and claustrophobic." Love herself denied the meltdown saying that the entire thing was blown out of proportion. She told Page Six, "I came in and had to go uptown to meet my boyfriend. I swear I didn't say or do anything; I was in a hurry to get uptown. I did zero, I turned up to be supportive, had a water and left. This is nonsense."
