Boy, Fierce Competition on Top Model

Cycle 11 of America's Next Top Model has some surprises in store for its viewers - and participants. Isis, a finalist from Maryland, identifies herself as "a woman born physically male." The show regularly pushes the envelope, featuring plus-sized women and models who raise awareness of international issues, such as female circumcision. GLAAD president Neil Giuliano told Us Magazine: "We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible." Twenty-two-year-old Isis may be the only tomcat on the catwalk, but she's just as fierce as the rest of them. Cycle 11 begins September 3.
