Despite his gripes, it's finally time for Wesley Snipes to pay the piper. After years of fighting tax evasion charges, Snipes turned himself in for a three-year prison sentence Thursday. From 1999-2004, Snipes skipped out on paying taxes on his $40 million income, and, well, it raised just a few red flags with the IRS. Since 2008, he's been in and out of court, trying to avoid a prison sentence; however, his efforts were in vain. The White Men Can't Jump actor will spend the next three years in McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Lewis Run, Penn., starting Thursday. A last-ditch effort to get the case dropped was denied after Snipes claimed a juror knew he was guilty before even being placed on the jury. Snipes appeared on Larry King Live Tuesday night and expressed his desire for a Christmas miracle via the motion filed Wednesday. "There was one juror that had said they knew Mr. Snipes was guilty right when they first saw him during the jury selection," a statement from a fellow juror read. No dice...though Snipes was hoping to delay the inevitable until after the holidays, another hail Mary ploy that didn't work. "We still have prayers out there. We still believe in miracles. So don't send me up the river yet," Snipes told King. TMZ confirms that the actor self-surrendered at around noon Thursday. In addition to three hots and a cot, Snipes can look forward to prison-issued clothing, shoes and a work assignment, for which he'll be paid. It's not $40 million, but at least he doesn't have to pay taxes on the cash...

3 years may be a long time, but I don't its long enough to make believe that he has learned his lesson. If, I, someone who barely makes 40K a year can pay my taxes, then the millionaire should be able to as well.
SMH, he could have avoided all of this by simply paying up.
