The award-winning crooner is pregnant with her first child. The baby daddy is the 24-year-old's boyfriend Simon Konecki. Adele, whose somber songs of heartache have made her an international success, confirmed the joyful news, writing, "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time." Despite the whirlwind of fame, the British singer has made it clear that she wants to focus more on family and less on work. Although her second album, 21, has been in the top 10 in the United States for more than a year, there was initially no buzz about any upcoming projects. She also indicated she was prepared to put her professional life on hold to enjoy her personal life. Earlier this year she told Vogue magazine, "I am ... off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail. So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy."
