The X Factor family is expanding -- and the newest family members are none other than reality star Khloe Kardashian and Extra star Mario Lopez. The two will replace former host Steve Jones, who was ousted after just one season on the hit FOX show. Although nothing is in writing yet, TMZ is reporting that both Kardashian and Lopez are closed to signing on the dotted line. The addition of the two new personalities is just the latest change to hit the X Factor. Following an unimpressive debut in season one, judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were shown the door, along with Jones. Their positions were filled by judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. Should everything go as planned, Kardashian and Lopez will take the stage when the first live show airs on November 1. One X Factor insider maintains that both Kardashian and Lopez are eager to join the X Factor. The source told CNN, "Those two want to do it, and the show is keen to have them." Although Kardashian isn't the biggest name X Factor could have landed, creator Simon Cowell feels that she has plenty to offer especially as a partner for Lopez. Cowell told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in a recent interview that while Kardashian doesn't have any hosting experience, she was a frontrunner for the position. Cowell said, "We have screen tested a load of people...it could be a Kardashian. I think that would work. I'm quite a fan of not putting [experienced] hosts on this show. Because I think it's going to give it a different dynamic. So we have to find people who have a great chemistry, but Khloe is definitely up there in running."
